Like, seriously, I love you for making it. A few nights ago I google searched "soccer ball" so I could make a similar one.
But never got around to the actual making bit.

Mayeeesh, if you have the time, think you want to design the title of the newspaper, "Panther Prints," (I think a graphic would be prettier than just typing it in) and/or possibly the layout of the front page? :)

Ahh, okay, then don't bother with that. But graphic would be great. One title I found pretty (well, prettier than what we used this year, which isn't saying much) was at this website, but I suppose you can do better than that. :P Or be more creative. I don't know. (And even after you design it, I have to ask Nicole, since she and I have the shared responsibility of the front page....)

If you like designing this kind of stuff, you could probably design flags for the first page of every section, if the rest of the staff doesn't object (since they're technically the ones in charge of their page layout). Dunno. We could find out at the next meeting (contending that Nicole likes this idea).

I can't open that website for my life, lol. =D Any chance you could copy & paste at my personal journal?

I can design separate logos for certain occasions, like Halloween, Christmas, St. Patricks, etc.. I could also just have a normal one in case our publishing date doesn't come anywhere near a holiday. I'll work on the other sections too so the editors can see a little of my stuff ... sounds like a deal! =P

Do you know how big the graphic has to be? Font type & size would be great.

No, I don't know how big the graphic should be... If it helps you any, the paper is 11 (width, I think) x 12.625 (length), with a half inch margin all around, so front page is sized 10 x 11.625. I was thinking that maybe it didn't have stretch across the whole top like it does in that website I have at the top, but...I'd have to check with Nicole... In any case, graphics can be resized, so it probably wouldn't be a huge huge deal, right?

I like the title in the link. Overlapping conserves space without getting rid of anything...

Naah, I don't think it will. After all, it's as good an excuse as any to open up PhotoImpact, right? =D If it ends up being a problem, I'll just make the general title and see what everyone else thinks.

Hmm. I think I'll make the title 2" by 5". Graphics can be resized, of course, but I really hate it when they get all squished the way the "Tribal Tribune" was.

Er, won't 5 inches of length be tough to enlarge because it'll get all fuzzy?

Sigh. I know it's wishful thinking on my part, but I wish I had Nicole and Adobe PageMaker right here so that we could talk about the front page layout. BLAHHH. The inconvenience of it all. :P

And good insight on your part about the 2 inches, because the flag (what we call the page title design of the newspaper) tends to be 2 inches in height... =D

Hmm. That's true. But then again, any size graphic gets fuzzy if you enlarge it too much. I was hoping 5" is a good enough length that we won't have to resize it too much to fit the front of the page.

I know. It would be incredibly convenient for all of us if we could just cart Adobe PageMaker home and install it on our computers. =D Then we wouldn't have to stay as long at school with layout ... we could just work on it in our spare time at home, designing pages whenever the reports come to us. I wonder how much it costs ...

Haha, lucky insight if anything. 1 1/2 inches seemed too small, so I settled with 2. =P
